Filming on Location in Thailand

Thailand has long been used as a filming location due to it's amazing scenery and the diversity of filming environments available. For a long time the coast was the major draw but one of the great things about shooting here is the shear diversity of what's available.

You will surely know of the miles of beautiful white sandy beaches along the southern coast and on the many islands, the coast line is varied so whether you want a tiny, deserted island in crystal clear seas, spectacular cliffs, smugglers' caves or a tourist resort you will find it all here.

Less known but equally spectacular are some of the inland areas of the country where there are jungle and forest (much of which is protected inside national parks), incredible waterfalls, hot springs, gigantic caves and lush paddy fields set amongst misty mountains that are little changed from early history.

Thailand's long history has left behind a legacy of spectacular temples as well as ancient ruins - many of which have equally spectacular backdrops, while the industrial success of the country means that there are modern highways, factories, urban and industrial areas that can double for places the world over.

Bangkok with its mix of high tech, modern architecture, the skytrain and many raised concrete expressways together with traditional timber houses, the palace, temples, mosques, the bustling street markets and crazy nightlife presents a lot of unique filming opportunities all within one city.

The country is well used to, and well set up for, location filming, the film board, National parks authority and the police are generally very helpful, there is a good transport system with cheap and frequent internal flights to the north and south of the country if you are filming away from Bangkok. Many services (such as transport and catering) are available locally avoiding the need to move large units. Obviously Thailand's well established tourist industry means that comfortable hotels can be found throughout the country.

Construction services are also very good here and crews are well used to building sets in even the more remote areas.

With our experience, we can often point you to the right location straight-away and, if we do not have reference pictures directly on hand, our location managers will soon find and photograph the perfect spot. Just let us know what you want to see...
