Thailand is pretty well set up for special effects, and with the large number of action films that shoot here. Crew and equipment are available.

There are quite a few experienced special effects supervisors and technicians from the UK, Germany and New Zealand living here as well as excellent local crews.

Recently, one local company has started to manufacture a good range of squibs which, as well as being cheaper than bringing them in from the USA, are lead free.

Items that can be sourced locally include: Mortar pots (all shapes and sizes), Air mortars, Gas Mortars, Firing systems, Capsule guns, Quick releases (bomb releases), Flame bars, Smoke machines of various types, Wind machines, Rain equipment (towers, spinner heads, pumps, tankers), dump tanks, 'Breakaway' glass windows, bottle, glasses etc.
