Shooting Underwater

Thailand is a popular place to shoot underwater and the sea (particularly on the Andaman coast) is a great destination, although the visibility drops noticeably during the wet season.

There is a tank very near to Bangkok which is 20m square and 5m deep which is often used for filming it also has a (small) observation window.

There are a few reasonable locally-made housings, although if you want a Hydroflex you'll need to bring it in.

There are a lot of experienced underwater crew available including camera, lighting and rigging crews and also other useful equipment like 'diver recall' type underwater speaker systems for giving direction and full face masks with communications are available.
